Common Overlooked Questions When Buying a House

If you’re in the process or plan to be in the process of buying a home, the following questions are ones that you need to be prepared with. They are important, but often forgotten and ones that most buyers regret not asking their real estate agent or seller.

What or where is the seller’s disclosure? Always be aware of all of the house’s and property’s flaws.

What are the home’s zoning guidelines? This is especially important if you want to make any structural changes both in the near future or at some point later. Even if you don’t plan any changes now, you need to know for the future!

What kinds of home inspections are available, and which ones are not? To avoid costly problems down the line, get as many inspections as possible!

What is the neighborhood’s crime rate? This can easily be looked up online, but getting a local’s take on the matter is better.

Do any kids or dogs live in the neighborhood? This is a plus or a negative, depending on your desires!

Lastly, WHY is the house for sale? It is a simple question, but the answer could mean everything when you consider making an offer.
