SPRING CLEAN REMINDER: Some things you might be forgetting.

SPRING CLEAN REMINDER: Some things you might be forgetting.

There’s nothing like a good spring deep-clean to make your home feel brand new!
If you're ready to level up from your usual vacuum-and-mop routine, dive into these satisfying deep-cleaning tasks. Pick your favorites, crank up the music, and get ready to fall back in love with your sparkling clean space!

1) Light Fixtures & Lamps

You’d be surprised how much dust your light fixtures, fans, and lamps can collect — and all that grime can dim your shine! Give them a quick refresh with a soft microfiber cloth or duster, and let the light (and sparkle) shine through!

2) Tops of Window Frames

Baseboards often get attention during a good cleaning session, but don’t forget about the higher spots. Grab a stepladder and carefully wipe down the tops of window frames and upper moldings to clear away dust and grime that tends to collect over time.

3) Bookshelves

Shelves filled with books and decorative items can gather more dust than you might think. Tackle one shelf at a time—remove everything, give the surface a good dusting, then place the items back. For an extra boost, take the opportunity to declutter as you go.

4) Underneath the Area Rugs

Move the furniture aside, roll up the rug and rug pad, and vacuum underneath. It sounds like a lot of work, but when you see what’s under there, you might be inspired to do this more frequently!

5) Picture Frames & Mirrors

Clean the glass fronts of picture frames and mirrors, and wipe away dust from the frames. Don’t spray picture frames, since liquid can potentially get in and damage the photo or artwork; use a barely dampened glass-cleaning cloth instead.

6. Upholstered Furniture

Pull out those vacuum attachments and give your upholstered furniture a thorough clean, making sure to get under and between the cushions. If your sofa cushions are reversible, rotate them to help maintain even wear over time.

7. Doors, Knobs and Handles

It should take only a few minutes to go around the house giving knobs and handles a quick swipe with the cleaning product of your choice, but this little task can really make your space look cleaner. Give the front door some extra love by cleaning it inside and out with warm, soapy water on a well-wrung-out soft sponge, and dry it with a soft cloth.

8) Wall Scuffs & Dings

Use a damp, soft cloth with a little dish soap—or a product like a Magic Eraser—to wipe away scuff marks. Fill in any dings or small holes, then touch up with matching paint for a refreshed finish.

9) Oven & Range Hood

If you’d rather skip the harsh oven cleaners, try a thick paste of baking soda and water. Spread it inside the oven and let it sit overnight, then wipe it clean with hot water the next day. While you're in the kitchen, don’t forget the range hood—grease and dust love to build up there. Use a step stool for a better view, and scrub it down with warm, soapy water to cut through the grime.

10) Small Appliances

Giving your microwave, toaster, blender, and mixer a quick clean doesn’t take much time, but the impact is big—a few shiny small appliances can make your entire kitchen feel refreshed.

11) Kitchen Drawers

Forget how the crumbs got there—what matters now is giving your drawers a clean slate. Take everything out, wipe down the inside thoroughly, and put items back neatly.

12) Underneath Beds & Behind Furniture

This time, go beyond the usual spots when vacuuming and target the hidden, hard-to-reach areas where dust tends to collect. Your efforts won’t go unnoticed—especially by anyone in the house with allergies.

13) Laundry Room Dust

There’s something about the laundry room—dust always seems to settle on and around the washer and dryer. Give the area a refresh by vacuuming around the appliances and wiping down all surfaces.

14) Kids' Toys

Young children—especially toddlers who love to explore with their mouths—can benefit from regular toy cleaning, especially during cold season. Hard plastic toys can be washed in warm, soapy water (a task little ones often enjoy helping with), while most soft toys can go through a gentle machine wash—just be sure to check the care labels. Beloved stuffed animals or “loveys” are best washed by hand and left to air dry to keep them in good shape.

This should be enough to keep any of us busy! Spring is definitely one of my favorite times of year. Love the fresh new start energy that fills the air.

All our best,

Basya & Emily
